Saturday, I went as Fem Simon Petrikov aka Ice Queen.

Let me tell you about this costume. From the get-go, it was trouble.

I lost one of my gloves (that was dyed to match the facepaint and leggings) and had to purchase last minute replacements- they didn’t match.  When I got dressed I didn’t take into account the 10-15 lbs I gained over the winter and my vest didn’t fit as well as it should have. (grumbles) Fat Fat fat mommy’s little fatty.  I also had forgot the petticoat for the first half of the day- so when I walked around my skirt clung to my legs- very unappealing. I had to walk slow and keep cool to stop myself from sweating- the blue paint can be unforgiving. I ended up staining my shirt collar and tie.

Geez Mar, you want some cheese with that whine?

But the Adventure Time cosplayers and other fans in obviously didn’t feel the same way AT ALL!~ I got several compliments and asked to get my photo taken quite a few times. And, I felt very much loved. I also had a great time at the photoshoot- and I hope everyone forgives my social awkwardness. I was there alone but didn’t feel left out. What a fun group! Sometimes, I forget that the (anime) convention scene is so much friendlier than …reality.

Ehehe- maybe I’ll even try it again at AniMinneapolis.

I’m sorry to report, that we will not be hosting this year. We had too many problems with a couple partakers, false rumors, and thefts ..it just became too stressful. So, we need to take a small yearlong break.

Thanks for sticking with us and making the conventions evening festivities rock! We’ll miss having ya’ll come and party with us! But we hope to see you again soon. Have a great convention year!

Captain Mar and the Biohazard Pirates

Two more purchases I made at AniMinneapolis. But I figured the meat and devil fruit were so badass they deserved a post of their own.

Just of the few things I purchased at AniMinneapolis this year. All One Piece memorabilia of course. LOL. I bought the purse/bag about 2 years ago and it really needs to be washed, so I was really happy to run into the same artist. I just wish my cellphone would’ve fit into the cute cases she made. TT_TT ~I bought a pin none-the-less.

So last weekend I was at AniMinneapolis: cosplaying, hosting a room party, and just general hell-raising. I had 3 days off between the end of AniMin and the start of CONvergence. BUT I didn’t have power for 44 hours during those days off- due to a bad storm. So I went swimming quite a bit and tried not to die from the heat. Thursday was the start CONvergence. I proceeded to party my ass off all three nights of CON. I arrived home late Sunday. Needless to say I’m a little tired, and my body HATES me. But I wanted to stop by and tell everyone I missed tumblr. I looooooooooooooove tumblr (and the blogs I follow). I hope tumblr will be my Mistress forever.

The stupid little depression that i’ve allowed myself to wallow around in the past week, is finally dissipating. Perhaps its the knowledge that my PoP ~Strong World~ Luffy ships today. Or… It could be there is like 11 days until AniMinneapolis. Either way, I’m feeling happier today. I can’t wait.
